Whole-Home Filtration in Peoria, Documented Step by Step
Whole-home filtration treats your water at the main line, before it branches out to faucets, showers and appliances. We start with a free test, suggest a system only when the readings support it, and take photos of the job from the first cut to the final pressure check.

What a whole-home system does, and when it makes sense
Also called a point-of-entry system, this filter is plumbed into your main supply, typically in the garage or at the softener loop many Valley homes already have. Most use a tank of activated carbon, often catalytic carbon, with a sediment prefilter ahead of it. Carbon grabs the chlorine and chloramine that give city water its pool-like flavor and smell. Minerals pass straight through it, though, so a carbon tank alone leaves hardness and scale where they are.
It is the right call when the complaint runs through the whole house: a pool smell in the shower, or ice and coffee that taste off even from the fridge line. If drinking water is your only concern, an under-sink reverse osmosis unit may serve you better for less. If spots and crusty fixtures are the issue, a water softener handles that, and the two often work together.
We tell you which of these fits after the test, not before. Then you see exactly what we found at your main line and everything we put in.
What the installation includes
- A free water test before any quote
- We check chlorine, hardness and total dissolved solids at your tap and walk you through the readings. The test comes with zero obligation, and the results are yours either way.
- Carbon and prefilter sized to your flow
- We match the tank to your bathrooms and peak water use so pressure holds when two showers and the washer run at once. Undersized media lets water rush past the carbon and wears out early.
- A bypass valve and tidy plumbing
- Every system gets a bypass so it can be isolated for service without shutting off the house. We match the copper or PEX already in place and keep fittings supported, level and neatly routed.
- Equipment and labor in one figure
- Our standing offer is install included with water treatment systems. The pricing you hear on the phone covers the tank set in place, plumbed in and running, with no separate labor bill afterward.
- Photos from start to finish
- You receive pictures of your main line before we cut in, the connections as they go together, and the finished system with its valves labeled.
- Cleanup and a walkthrough
- We flush the new media until the water runs clear, check every joint for drips and tidy the space before we leave. On the way out, we point out the bypass handle and explain how to tell when the prefilter is due.
Signs your home could use whole-house filtration
A chlorine smell in the shower
Hot water releases chlorine into the steam, so the smell is strongest in a closed bathroom. A filter at the kitchen sink will not touch that.
An off taste at more than one tap
If the bathroom sink, fridge dispenser and kitchen faucet all taste of treatment chemicals, the fix belongs on the main line rather than at one faucet.
Skin or hair that feels dry after bathing
Many people notice a difference once chlorine comes out of their shower water. It is not a medical claim, just a common reason people call us.
Grit in aerators and screens
Sediment in faucet aerators or washing machine inlet screens points to particles a prefilter can catch before they reach your fixtures.
An old filter nobody remembers servicing
A garage housing with a brown cartridge, or a tank of unknown age, may be passing water through untreated. We document what is there and tell you plainly whether it is worth keeping.
How the work unfolds
- 1
Test and talk it through
On the phone we set a time for your free water test. At your home we run it, show you the numbers and explain whether a whole-home system, a softener, reverse osmosis or nothing at all makes sense.
- 2
A clear plan and pricing
If you want to go ahead, we name the system, media, valves and plumbing route, and give you installed system pricing before anything is scheduled.
- 3
Installation day
We shut off the main, lay down floor protection, open the supply line and seat the tank on a level pad. Water is off for only part of the visit. Photos are taken as each stage is finished, not reconstructed afterward.
- 4
Flush, check and hand over
We rinse the new carbon, restore pressure, check for leaks and test the treated water at a tap. You get the full set of images and a short note on upkeep for your system.

What shapes the price
Whole-home filtration is priced around your home and your water, not a list price. After the test we give you installed system pricing with each part named, so you know what you are paying for and why.
- Household size and peak flow
- More bathrooms and heavier peak use call for a larger tank and more media. That costs more up front but stretches the time between media changes.
- Type of filter media
- Standard carbon handles chlorine well. Catalytic carbon is better suited to chloramine and costs more, and added stages such as a sediment prefilter change the total too.
- Access to the main line
- A home with an existing loop in the garage is a short job. Running new pipe to another location or working around a water heater adds labor and materials.
- Outdoor placement
- Equipment set outside in the desert sun may need a cover to protect the housings and valve head, which we price as its own line.
- Pairing with other systems
- When filtration goes in alongside a softener or reverse osmosis, the plumbing work can be shared, and we price it as one job.
Whole-home filtration questions
Something not covered here? (480) 660-8241
Will filtering the whole house reduce my water pressure?
Not noticeably, if the tank suits the house. Most pressure complaints trace back to an undersized tank or a clogged prefilter. We size the system for your peak use and measure pressure before and after the install.
When will the carbon and prefilter need changing?
That timing comes down to how big the tank is, what your test shows and how much water your household runs through. Carbon tanks typically go years between media changes, while the sediment cartridge gets swapped more often. We give you an expected schedule for your setup and show you how to check the prefilter yourself.
Do I still need a water softener?
Carbon does not remove the minerals that leave scale and spots. If your test shows hard water and you see buildup on fixtures, a softener handles that part. Many homes pair the two, with the carbon filter ahead of the softener so chlorine does not reach the resin.
Is my tap water unsafe without a filter?
City water is treated to meet drinking water standards. Most people choose whole-home filtration for taste, smell and comfort rather than safety. Your test results and your city's annual water quality report are the best guides, and we go over both with you.
Can you install it if my garage has no softener loop?
Yes, in most homes. We locate the main line, plan the shortest clean route and show you photos of the connections before anything is closed up.
